The Longford Association in London

Bringing Longford people together since 1955

63RD Annual Dinner & Dance. Saturday 10th February 2018

As in the past number of years our annual function took place at The Clayton Crown Hotel, Cricklewood Broadway , London NW2 3ED. The almost two hundred and fifty guests heard the keynote speech by the new Irish Ambassador, Adrian O’Neill who himself has strong Longford links, his father hailing from Legan. Longford Council Cathaoirleach Martin Mulleady spoke about the many recent positive developments especially in Longford Town including the plans for the unopened shopping centre and the progress with CenterParcs at Ballymahon. Prior to dinner there was a display by The Ryan Lavelle School of Irish Dancing. Following an excellent Three Course Dinner there was dancing to Declan Nerney and His Band interspersed by musical contributions from several guests. The raffle which was generously sponsored will benefit among others the family of Evan McKeon, a thirteen years old Longford Boy who recently underwent a heart transplant operation at Newcastle General Infirmary. Following feedback on the night we would urge anyone with special dietary requirements to advise us of this fact when booking tickets so that their choice of meal can be catered for. If you have any photos from the evening you wish to be published on the website please email them to By all measurements this was one of the most successful Dinner Dances in many years, and we look forward with confidence to our Sixty Fourth which will take place on Saturday 16th February 2019 (amended date) at the same venue.
